6 max.....

As a change of pace (plus getting bored with limit hold'em), I decided to try NL 6 max.

I've made more money in it than playing full ring limit...with 90% less hands played.

I like it.

Ugh....

The less said about last night's session the better. A SNG that went bust....a slight downward trend in PLO8, a small increase in LHE, and a shot at a higher stake that was cold deck city. JJ vs his KK, straight vs a bigger straight....you get the idea. In that one, I got a lot of cards....and a lot of cold decks. Ah well. Bankroll management is your friend in these scenarios. Back to the grinding....

Brief update.

Played 4 SNG's...

1. Finished 4th
2. Finished 1st
3. Finished 1st
4. Finished 10th

Feast or famine it looks like. I'm close to cracking the $200 bankroll barrier...not bad from starting with 10 bucks initially (after the Partypoker fiasco). I don't play as often as I would like but whatever....

Been playing around a bit with PokerTracker 3 and their 60 day trial period. I'll let you know my overall results with that program when the 2 months are up.

Overall I'm up in my cash games I think. I'm still playing those "double or nothing" SNGs on pokerstars. I decided to review some SNG concepts and have basically tightened up significantly. Seems to have worked as I'm cashing quite frequently. Might be the way to go to get more money in the account.

Not much more to add right now. The WSOP schedule for 2009 has been released. The biggest news coming out of it is the elimination of rebuy events and the addition of a 40K buyin event. I understand the reasoning behind removing the rebuy events. However, as I understand it, several of the previous winners of the buying events did so with minimal investment. I'm not sure if the whole concept of "buying a bracelet" really holds water...especially with a 40k event.....40K is a good way of keeping the crowd small...and thus greatly increasing the chance of winning one since there are less people to get through. Just a thought.
