WSOP Thoughts....

Hey all.

Not much to report from my own play. SNG's are now having me go out on the bubble again. No big deal...name of the game I guess. I think I'm pretty much even for this month overall. I've been playing, mostly for giggles than anything else, these 10 cent turbo MTT's on PokerStars. More for fun than anything else. I've played four and cashed in one. Word of advice...only play these while you are playing your regular game at the same time...playing for one hour to make 10 cents is not exactly a great use of time (lol).

Been following the WSOP coverage at pokernews.com. Seems like the pros are doing well this year with big names taking bracelets. In fact, a lot of the winners are household names in the business. I think a lot of that is due to more bigger buy-in tournies this year. However, that is just an observation.

I was hoping to win a seat in the main event this year, but it looks like that will be a no-go as I'm still in a "bankroll-building" mode and don't want to waste parts of it trying to qualify for a seat. I think I'm going to try to make it a goal for next year.

Great May Month.

Hey all.

Great month of May results wise. Probably my best month of the year so far. I went on a good streak of SNG cashes when I was playing. Then, when that cooled off, I got some decent NL Cash game wins. Can't complain. My Pokerstars account, which was on life support, is now healthy enough for the games I play...but still a little underfunded. Hopefully, I will be able to change that up soon.

So the WSOP has started. Looks like I won't be there (again). No big deal. I'm promising myself that I will try to win a package for next year's event. I know I say that every year, however I think my PS account will be healthy enough to give it a decent attempt.

A local Ontario casino in my area, Casino Brantford, has its workers on strike. I wish them the best of luck getting a new deal that they are happy with. I have been there a couple of times and this is a great room. Granted, because they are a charity casino, they can only spread limit poker (with the exception of some tournaments that they run from time to time) but it is a clean well-run room with its own cage and everything. I have no complaints at all about that place. Hopefully, this strike won't last long.

Now time to go and get caught up on WSOP coverage....later.
